Acts chapter 17, verse 6 gives us a glimpse of the Jewish spiritual leaders' reaction to the burgeoning Christian church, even going so far as to attack a local Christian's home in search of Silas and the Apostle Paul. The Jewish leaders complained, "these men who have turned the world upside down have come here also".
Beginning in Acts chapter 13 we encounter several vignettes where God shows His power and glory not only in the preaching of the Gospel, but also by silencing false spiritual leaders and performing other miracles through His apostles. At the end of the book, we will see the Apostle Paul imprisoned in the Roman capital, who, even as a prisoner, had influence among Caesar's household (Philippians 4).
