When is the Service?

We have one Sunday morning worship service that begins at 10:30 am in the sanctuary.  Our Christian education classes for children, youth and adults meet 9:15-10:15 am every Sunday, September through May.  Nursery through 5th grade meets in The Woodland on 1st floor, adults meet on the 2nd floor, and 6th-12th grade youth meet in The Loft on 3rd floor.

What Should I Wear?

There is no dress code at ChristChurch, so don’t let clothes keep you away.  Most people come dressed in ‘business casual,’ though others will be a little more dressed up and still others less.  You are more important than your clothes.

What’s Your Worship Like?

Our worship service can well be described as ‘new traditional.’ Our order of worship is shaped by our commitment as Presbyterians to do in worship only those things that we see taught in the Scriptures where it instructs us how to worship God as His people.  The reading and preaching of Scripture, the singing of songs new and old, prayers of adoration and confession and petition and commitment, the affirmation of our faith using the ancient creeds, the celebration of the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, all enjoyed in the fellowship of God’s people, are all part of an ordinary service.

Our music is a blend of rich traditional hymns and new expressions of praise, all of which blend together to the praise of God and the encouragement of His people.   To hear a sample of some of the songs we sing, click here.

We celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper on the first and third Sundays of each month, and gather for a special time of worship, praise and prayer called the “Praise-Be Jubilee” in months where there’s a fifth Sunday evening.  To see a sample of a typical worship service, click here.

What Do I Do with My Children?

Here at ChristChurch, we think it’s important for our covenant children to be present with us in worship as soon as they are able.  Since readiness to participate in the whole service differs from child to child, we also offer a program called, “Teach Me to Worship” for our 4-year-olds to 2nd graders along with a children’s church program for 3rd & 4th graders in our 1st floor children’s center called The Woodland.  The children who are going downstairs will be dismissed to their programs during the offering and can be picked up in their classrooms after the service.

We ask parents to escort their younger children out to the lobby to meet their teachers for the walk down to their classrooms.  If you have not yet checked them into children’s ministry for the morning, we ask that you go with them downstairs to get a pickup sticker at the welcome desk on 1st floor so that our volunteers can release them to you after worship.

Families in Worship Resource Tables can be found in both the 2nd and 3rd floor lobbies, and contain a selection of articles, books, and resources designed especially for kids to enrich the worship experience for those who remain in the service.  Prices for those resources for sale can be found at the table, along with payment options and instructions.  Age-graded worship bulletins for children ages 3-12 and crayons are available in the lobby as well.
