WELCOME

Christchurch warmly welcomes you and all college students. One of our great desires as a congregation is to help you feel "at home" with us, even if you are only here during term times. Atlanta is home to over a quarter of a million students and a wonderful city in which to study. If you are new to the city and want friendship and a place to "belong" we would love to meet you. In a normal year we see students (under-graduate, graduate and post-graduates) from many different backgrounds and nationalities studying many different subjects all finding a church home with us.

"In my sophomore year at Wake Forest University, RUF came and literally changed the face of our campus. Throughout college RUF impacted me greatly and because of them, I looked for a PCA church when I moved to Atlanta. Here at ChristChurch, I am excited to see what God will teach me about his determination to pursue me as his daughter."

OUR MISSION

To see University students become Christ-centered laborers.

OUR HEART FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS

Many of our church's members and leaders experienced profound life change during their defining college years and we know that Atlanta's college students today will become the country's leaders tomorrow. That's why ChristChurch partners with Campus Crusade for Christ, Reformed University Fellowship, and InterVarsity leaders in offering students in Atlanta great opportunities to see what it means to follow Jesus Christ while they are in college.

LEARNING AND QUESTIONING

If you are wanting to learn more about the Christian faith, then our college leaders are on hand to help. If you are struggling with how to be a Christian in what is, at times, an antagonistic environment, they can help and point you to others in your college or dorm At ChristChurch we deliberately foster a ‘questioning environment'. For Christians and non-Christians alike, this is a safe place in which to ask faith related questions without being ‘put down'. If you are wanting to be stretched in your faith then Sunday School classes and other occasional courses are available.

DIVERSITY

Many students worship with us at ChristChurch each year. The diversity among those who come is exciting and encouraging for us all.

  • Students join us from Atlanta, from Georgia, and from around the United States, but also from several countries around the world.
  • Some students are undergraduates and some are involved in postgraduate research of world importance.
  • Some worship in a Presbyterian church "back home" and others worship in a variety of different denominations.
  • Many students are involved in different Christian ministries at their universities (Campus Crusade, Reformed University Fellowship, Inter-Varsity and others), but all will find a welcome home at ChristChurch for worship and fellowship.

BRINGING FRIENDS

Many college friends may never have been near a church. Here they will be assured of a welcome, so do invite others. Remember Sundays @ 7 would be a good service to which to bring friends. For those who want to go further, please come with them to one of the regular Christianity Explored course, which run for 8 weeks most terms.

GETTING INVOLVED

Soups On and College Lunches

Each week a light lunch is offered at church. This is the quickest way to meet people on your first visit. Many college students stay for lunch and meet other members of ChristChruch. From time to time there are special lunches for college students. These are free for

Sundays @ 7

(first and third Sundays of every month)

This service is a specially useful time for meeting in a relaxed atmosphere over good coffee and great cakes and cookies. A service with it's own kind of music and structure allows us to address current issues from a Biblical perspective and is followed by questions to the preacher. An excellent place to bring those who do not know Christ yet.

Small Groups

ChristChurch students lead a number of vibrant small group opportunities throughout the week on various campuses. These provide a place of closer community, deeper study of the Bible, and a great context for service and outreach.

Retreat and Conferences

College students can share spiritual community and build lasting bonds at various retreats and conferences that are organized and advertised during the year.

College Missions

We have opportunities for college students to go on short and long term missions to reach the un-reached college students of Bosnia and East Asia.
