Adult Education classes begin at 9:15am in the Adult Education classrooms (2nd floor) and let out at 10:15am to allow you plenty of time to make your way to the sanctuary for worship. Classes for 2017 begin January 8th. These classes are:
A Simple Way To Pray – Led by Dr. Archie Parrish & Rencher Gutteridge
“When we get on our knees, we are all simple humans,” says Dr. R.C. Sproul, “As simple people, we need a simple way to pray. There is nothing simplistic about this spiritual endeavor. Rather it is a simple way to sound the deep things of God.” This is what this class is all about! Using Martin Luther’s A Simple Way to Pray, we will learn how he used the Lord’s Prayer, the Ten Commandments, and the Apostle’s Creed to spend time in prayer and meditation daily. Each person will also receive a workbook with exercises for 42 days to help us develop deeper habits of prayer! (We are excited to have Archie Parrish, the founder and president of SERVE International, a non-profit dedicated to training people and churches in Kingdom-focused prayer). All are welcome!
Parenting from the Tree of Life – Led by Bill & Jenny Griscom
It has been said that there are two significant moments in life. The first is the moment you are born; the second is the moment you discover why you were born, and this video series will help parents embrace this truth. “Parenting from the Tree of Life” is not an easy task, especially in this age of uncertainty, where declining cultural values put enormous stress on families. This course lays the groundwork for your parenting no matter where you are in the process, providing a life-giving home environment, stressing the relational components associated with child training, and helping you understand how to raise your growing children in the way of the Lord.
College Connections – Led by Dave Lindberg
This class for all college students and anyone else who would like to connect with students. Join us as we come together to study God’s Word, discuss life issues that impact college students, and encourage one another during this important time of life. This semester we’re studying the Gospel of John, a powerful argument for the incarnation, and a conclusive demonstration that Jesus was, and is, the very heaven-sent Son of God and the only source of eternal life. John, the devoted follower of Christ, has given us a personal and powerful look at this Jesus, so as we read his story, we can together, learn what it means to believe in and follow Him!
We believe membership in a local church is important. Not only does it solidify your commitment to the church, but it also establishes our commitment to you. In a series of 3 classes (offered each quarter), you can learn what the church believes, what’s required of you, and what you can expect from us. You’ll also be able to ask questions and get to know others who are interested in joining the church.
